Theodosius

Theodosius was the eldest son of emperor Maurice Tiberius. He was made caesar in 587 at the age of 4, and co-emperor in 590 at the age of 7. In 601, Theodosius married a daughter of the patrician Germanus. The following year during Phocas' revolt, Theodosius (along with his parents, all his younger brothers and sisters, his wife, and father-in-law) was killed, he was only 19.

Obv: ᴅ . ɴ . ᴛєᴏᴅᴏsıᴠs ᴘᴘ . ᴀɴ . ᴀ. Cuirassed bust facing, wearing plumed helmet, and holding globus cruciger.

Rev: ᴠıcᴛᴏʀıᴀ ᴀᴠɢɢ . ᴀ. Angel standing facing, holding long staff surmounted by ⳨, and globus cruciger; in exergue, cᴏɴᴏʙ.

Obv: ᴅ . ɴ . ᴛєᴏᴅᴏsıᴠs ᴘᴘ . ᴀ. Draped and cuirassed bust facing, wearing plumed helmet.

Rev: ᴀᴍє / ɴıᴛᴀ / s ᴅєı in 3 lines within circle of dots; all surrounded by wreath.
