Andronicus I Comnenus (1183-1185). AV Hyperpyron. Constantinople mint. Sear 1983.
Obv: The Virgin enthroned facing, nimbate and wearing pallium and maphorium; she holds before her the nimbate head of the infant Christ facing; on either side of nimbus, ᴍᴘ—ⲑᴠ [WITH LINES ABOVE].
Rev: ᴀɴΔᴘᴏɴıᴋᴏc Δєcⲡᴏᴛʜᴄ (or similar). Christ, bearded and with nimbus cruciger (on right) and Andronikos, with forked beard (on left), both standing facing; Christ wears pallium and colobium, holds book of Gospels in left hand, and with his right hand crowns the emperor, who is wearing divitision, loros and sagion, and holds labarum and globus cruciger; between their heads ıc xc [WITH LINES ABOVE].

Rev: ᴀɴΔᴘᴏɴıᴋᴏc (or similar). Half-length figure of Andronikos facing, with forked beard, wearing crown, scaramangion and sagion, and holding labarum and globus cruciger.

Rev: ᴀɴΔᴘᴏɴıᴋᴏc Δєcⲡᴏᴛʜc (or similar). Andronikos, with forked beard, standing facing, wearing crown, divitision and loros, and holding labarum and globus surmounted by patriarchal cross; in upper field to right, manus Dei.

Obv: Facing bust of the Virgin orans, nimbate and wearing pallium and maphorium, on her breast nimbate head of the infant Christ facing; on either side ᴍᴘ—ⲑᴠ [WITH LINES ABOVE].
Rev: ᴀɴΔᴘᴏɴıᴋᴏc (or similar). Half-length figure of Andronikos facing, with forked beard, wearing crown, scaramangion and sagion, and holding labarum and globus cruciger.
Notes: Same type as the Tetarteron from Thessalonica SB 1987 but smaller.
